Responsibilities: * Assess and monitor the condition of expectant mothers and fetuses during labor and delivery. * Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as needed. * Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. * Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families. * Monitor and record vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions. * Assist with the management of high-risk pregnancies and emergencies. * Prepare patients for labor and delivery and assist with the birthing process. * Care for newborns, including performing initial assessments, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with breastfeeding. * Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the labor and delivery unit. * Maintain accurate patient records and documentation. * Stay current with best practices and advancements in labor and delivery nursing. Qualifications: * Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. * Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. * Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing. * Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations. * Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
