Online TV Presents A Dose Of Travel Nurse Reality
Sayonara Survivor. Adios American Idol. Say hello to real reality television. Access Nurses, a healthcare staffing agency, launched “13 Weeks” to provide an intimate look at the day-to-day activities of travel nurses on an actual 13 week assignment.
Six nurses were chosen from among hundreds of applicants by visitors to NurseTV.com who voted for their favorite candidates. Over 26,000 votes were cast to select the nurses for 13-week travel assignments in various medical facilities in sunny Southern California.
The nurses share quarters in a fantastic mansion in an exclusive gated community. The cameras follow the nurses as they live, work and play. The show is a clever recruiting vehicle that portrays the on-the-job activities of each nurse and the challenges they face. The show also mixes in a generous amount of leisure activity to show that when the nurses are not working hard and saving lives they are playing hard and having a blast.
If only travel nursing were really this much fun. But at least they don’t have to eat live bugs and nobody gets voted off the show.
