The American Association of Colleges of Nursing<\/a> has updated their fact sheet about the nursing shortage. As usual, the projections are staggering. There are currently 116,000 vacancies for RNs nationwide, a number which is expected to grow to 500.000 by 2025. In the assessment, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics is quoted as stating that 587,000 new <\/strong><\/em>nursing positions will be created making nursing the fastest growing profession.\"AACN\"<\/p>\n

On the one hand, the nursing shortage bodes well for the future of travel nursing but what does it say about the future of healthcare in this country?
