Joy Behar, a co-host on ABC’s The View, as well as the entire show itself, is in some hot water after making some pretty arrogant remarks recently about Miss Colorado and her nursing profession last week.<\/p>\n

Pretty much here’s what went down to recap it:<\/em><\/p>\n

The panel on the show were discussing the Miss America pageant two weeks ago. The talent portion of the show featured Miss Colorado, Kelley Johnson, performing a monologue discussing working as a nurse who specializes in helping patients with Alzheimer’s.<\/p>\n

One co-host, Michelle Collins, “The talent, though, I have to say, the woman who won sang opera, and she was incredible. Really good,” Collins said. “But then there was a girl who wrote\u00a0<\/span>her own monologue and\u00a0<\/span>I was like ‘Turn the volume up, this is going be amazing, let’s listen’.\u00a0<\/span>She came out in a nurse’s\u00a0<\/span>uniform and basically read her emails out loud and shockingly did not win.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Joy Behar replied, “Seriously?!” with an extremely confused look on her face. Then, she really crossed the line. “Why does she have a doctor’s stethoscope on?”<\/p>\n

Behar asked before Collins explained to her,\u00a0“She helps patients with Alzheimer’s, which I know is not funny, but I swear you had to see it.”<\/p>\n

Nurses use stethoscopes, too. It’s not just for doctors. And, in fact, it’s just plain condescending to insinuate that nurses aren’t capable of using a basic health tool.<\/p>\n
