She\u2019s from New Jersey. It\u2019s her first time experiencing nursing student life. She made a selfie video that received more than 1,000 votes, leading her to win a $2,000 scholarship towards nursing school. Meet Julia. Julia is one of many nursing students who applied to the TravelNurseSource \u201cFuture U.S. Nurse Scholarship\u201d in 2018. Students had to submit a short selfie video explaining why they wanted to be a nurse and how receiving $2,000 could impact their lives. Six finalists then went on to a voting competition on social media, of which Julia was the winner. We surprised Julia with a video phone call to tell her that she won the scholarship.
