“Write” From The Travel Nurse’s Mouth
Epstein LaRue is the nom de plume of a real life travel nurse whose real name is Kay. She has crafted a website and blog that address the world of travel nursing from the perspective of personal experience. Ms. LaRue receives feedback from other travel nurses and prepares evaluations of hospitals (see the most recent list here) and placement firms (most current Top Ten listed here). This kind of first-hand experience is very valuable as travel nurses attempt to evaluate opportunities and decide where they will spend 13 weeks of their lives.
Epstein LaRue has also written a book titled “Highway Hypodermics: Your Roadmap To Travel Nursing.” The book presents the ups, downs, ins and outs of the travel nursing lifestyle. It is helpful if you are just getting started or trying to figure the travel nurse thing out.
I think you will enjoy the Highway Hypodermics website. I’d also like to hear from you about your opinion of the site and any other resources that you find helpful.
