Travel Nurse RN - OR - $2,680 per week in Silver Spring, MD - Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of surgical patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality perioperative care, manage surgical instruments and equipment, and maintain a sterile environment. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in facilitating successful surgical procedures. Schedule: 5x8 11a-7:30p EOW and On-Call required Duration: 13 weeks Gross Pay: $2,680 Key Responsibilities: * Preoperative Assessment: Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to ensure patients are prepared for surgery, addressing any concerns or medical history issues. * Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, including passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and providing necessary equipment and supplies. * Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience, addressing any concerns or changes in the patient's condition promptly. * Sterile Technique: Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, including proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols. * Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with preoperative and postoperative education to ensure understanding and compliance with care plans. * Documentation: Accurately document all patient care activities, assessments, and interventions in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards. * Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth flow of surgical procedures. * Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations during surgery, including code situations, while maintaining composure and following established protocols. * Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper functioning and availability of surgical equipment and instruments, reporting any malfunctions or deficiencies promptly. Must have minimum 2 years of experience in current field. Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS). Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)and travel experience preferred. Must have experience in Electrocardiogram (EKG), Moderate Sedation and daVinci Robotic Surgery.
