Travel Nurse RN - OR - $2,680 per week in Silver Spring, MD - Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of surgical patients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality perioperative care, manage surgical instruments and equipment, and maintain a sterile environment. Your expertise and attention to detail will be essential in facilitating successful surgical procedures. Schedule: 5x8 11a-7:30p EOW and On-Call required Duration: 13 weeks Gross Pay: $2,680 Key Responsibilities: * Preoperative Assessment: Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to ensure patients are prepared for surgery, addressing any concerns or medical history issues. * Surgical Assistance: Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, including passing instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and providing necessary equipment and supplies. * Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical experience, addressing any concerns or changes in the patient's condition promptly. * Sterile Technique: Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, including proper sterilization of instruments and adherence to infection control protocols. * Patient Education: Provide patients and their families with preoperative and postoperative education to ensure understanding and compliance with care plans. * Documentation: Accurately document all patient care activities, assessments, and interventions in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards. * Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth flow of surgical procedures. * Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations during surgery, including code situations, while maintaining composure and following established protocols. * Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper functioning and availability of surgical equipment and instruments, reporting any malfunctions or deficiencies promptly.
