Travel Nurse RN - $2,123 per week in Gillette, WY - Skills and Job Functions RN will care for babies in the Level II Nursery and will attend all deliveries and C-sections. Minimal babies on ventilators (if baby needs to be on vent for longer than 24 hours then will be shipped out to larger facility). If no babies in Level II nursery, then RN will care for babies in the general nursery. Level II nursery is 5 bed unit and general nursery is 15 beds, all contained within the same area. Experience, Licensure and Certifications Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience in Level III NICU is required Licensed as Registered Nurse in State of Wyoming is required prior to start. CCMH will look at candidates without WY license at time of submission as long as RN is eligible for temp license (clear background screen). CPR/BLS (issued through American Heart Association) and NRP are required. STABLE is preferred. Schedule requirements Shifts are 12 hours in length and will be primarily 12 hour nights; 7:00P-7:30A. Department does self-scheduling 6 weeks at a time and RN will be required to work 3 weekends during the 6 week schedule. RN will have the option of picking up extra shifts. General job duties. Types of procedures required. Provides direct, procedural care for patients in the Cath/IR Lab. Communicates continuously with the physician and Cath/IR Lab staff about patient condition. Assists physician during invasive and noninvasive procedures through monitoring, circulating and/or scrubbing procedures. Ability to Scrub is a MUST. Operates all equipment safely and correctly. Performs imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Participates in the performance improvement and continuous quality (CQI) improvement activities of the Cardiac Cath/IR Lab. Supports and maintains a culture of kindness to all. Focuses on safety, service excellence and quality, and fiscal responsibility. Must know and abide with standard radiation safety. May work in other units as a helper when assigned to do so by Team Lead or Manager. Required skills and minimum years of experience. Minimum of 1 year of experience in Cath Lab/Interventional Radiology required. Prefer 3 years or more. 4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc.) BLS and ACLS required through AHA. If RN - Current and Valid RN License in the state of Wyoming or a Compact License that includes the state of Wyoming. 5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?) Schedule/Shift requirements: Department is covered 24/7- 365 days per year. Schedule is Monday through Friday 8 hour days starting at 7:00 to 3:30, On Call starts at 3:30 and goes util 0700 the following day. Typical amount of call varies from as little as 8 shifts to as much as to as many as 16 shifts per month including weekends. We try not to do back to back weekends but sometimes it does happen and We work hard to limit weekends to a maximum of 2 weekends per month. In Cath Lab we work as a 3 person team always. In the IR Lab it varies depending on procedure. Injections can be done alone, anything that requires sedation is always done with 3 people. An HSG and PICC lines requires 2 people. 6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?) We are the back up for Radiology assisting in this department is expected if they are in need. Floating is an expectation of our Facility since it is in a rural area, Likelyiood of floating is small but if a person floats it is as a helper only so you can be called back in an emergency. Typical places and duties when floating are to ICU, Med/Surg, Mom/Baby, ED, PACU as a second. Typical assignments are: answer call lights, 1:1 coverage with immediate back up, Pre op or Post op our own patients on the floor, answer phones 7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. One dedicated IR Room, One dedicated Cath Room, two Cath/IR pre/post bays, One dedicated RAD RN room 8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) All of our Nurse to Patient ration is a minimum of 1:1 there are times it will be 1:2 (Rad RN) or if during cath/IR there are two nurses on the 3 person team. Responsibilities: * Assist in the preparation, setup, and operation of cardiac catheterization equipment and monitoring devices. * Administer medications and IVs as required during cardiac catheterization procedures. * Monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms, making immediate assessments and interventions when necessary. * Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding the cardiac catheterization procedure and recovery. * Collaborate with interventional cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. * Maintain accurate patient records and document all aspects of care in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. * Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe, clean, and sterile environment in the cath lab. * Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in cardiac care. * Assist in the training and orientation of new staff members as needed.
