July 09, 2014 A nice small hospitalI really enjoyed working at SVMC I started out in the laboratory and worked in many different positions until I earned my LPN. I then worked for a year on a nursing unit while getting my RN license. The people that you work with at SVMC are the best part about it. They are you friends, family and community members. There is a real team environment between all medical staff. The focus is high quality patient care. |
November 17, 2013 I was just happy to go to work and be with my co-workersa typical day was check in at 6;00am and set up rooms for patient surgery then set up IV's Transport patients to the rooms help with patients and sitting up equipment when they are ready for us. Help scrub techs and surgeon with what they need. I have learned so much with patient care I can't tell you it all. I love the management but my co-workers got me off on a bad start with the new manager they said that she was trying to get rid of me because of limitation with my shoulder and waist. so I confronted her and she said the censes were down so I had to go work out on the floors sitting that is a one on one with a patient Then I was sent to medical records the next day stayed there quite awhile and then I was called to human resourses and was told that if I couldn't do my job a hundred % then they would have to terminate me and they offered a perdame job but I didn't take it because it was just until Someone got back from materity leave . So I wasn't doing favors for them with no benefits that I would of lose after twenty five years of service for them. I loved all the people I worked with they were great. Was being part of the team it was fun most of the days Then I would get out of work at 2:30PM. |
June 18, 2012 Fast paced and enjoyable workplace depending on some coworkerstypical day was come in take patients orders made sure they had everything they needed then come back into the kitchen make sure everyone had something to do so that when it was time to bring the patients meals it was all ready. management was good friendly and cared about you as an employee. The co-workers there were some that were very unpleasant and hard to work with just plain miserable!!! most enjoyable was being on the floor with the patients and making them smile while in a not so happy environment. |
