fun place to work
Performing Home Care in clients homes. Wonderful department.
Great entry level position to hospital with room for growth and advancement
My typical day involved providing direct patient care on a busy oncology unit which included providing chemotherapy, blood transfusions, pain management and symptom management. I also provided supervision, support and assistance to staff, as well as oriented and trained new personnel and student nurses. In addition, I educated and provided emotional support to patients and their families. The most enjoyable part was getting to know patients and their families since some patients can stay on the unit for weeks or longer. The hardest part was losing a patient that I became attached to.

I loved the enviroment at the hospital. Everyone I came into contact with was more than willing to help me in my journey. We began each day at 6:30 in the nurses lounge. This is where we got our OR rotation for the day.I was in a group of five students. The best part of being at the hospital was all the things we were able to see and participate in.The worst part was seeing a child pass. But I was told by many of the nurses that day that God willing I would never see that again.
Work environment was like being a part of a huge family.
I enjoyed my work life at NCH and am proud to have worked there.
Wonderful internship in Outpatient Oncology.
The internship was extremely instructive in the many facets of hospital social work, with the emphasis being on out-patient cancer patients. There were many opportunities to develop as a social worker.
