Too difficult

Too much heavy lifting. I did not get help with patients. It was very dangerous for me to deal with the various situations.

Fast paced therapuetic work enviroment

A typical day for me was performing patient care such as every day living skills. Assisting individuals with getting to school or work depending on their developmental level. Management was fair and things were done by seniority. The hardest part of my job was being out of my element as far as meeting new people and providing customer service. The best part was helping others to feel as normal as possible while they were struggling with severe or profound retardation.

great benefits

Lanterman Developmental center was a great place to work. Besides great benefits, it also employed people that did not have a psych. tech licence.

Good people with real love for what they do.

I had a very great experience with these coworkers and really appreciated working along side people that really did have true compassion and care for our very delicate population.
