Challenging but educational for me.

As an RN at NSH, it was full of challenges but educational. Some co-workers are helpful but there are some that are lazy and don't want to do anything, just come to work to get paid, no dedication to their job at all, maybe because they have been working their for so long!

Dynamic development of new polcy and procedure related to wellness and recovery model.Poor definition of asigned duities.Good team approach to nursing

Napa State Hospital is an interesting and challenging institution to gain psychiatric nursing experience. Their training department is innovative and stays abreast of the changing environment of the State Hospital system. Nurses must be able to function independently for assessments yet maintain the ability to pull together to meet individuals needs in the event of crisis. Reporting of patients conditions are essential for maintaining pertinent information in shift change.

Horrible communications, terrible work production, lack of loyalty and trust. Highly unproductive in every aspect of work that there could possibly .

If given an option I wouldn't work at Napa State hospital. A typical work day consists of listening to people cry. Management only cares about management. Co-workers are lazy and soft. The hardest part of the day is listening to all the crying. The most enjoyable part of the day is leaving.
