I enjoy my job, but there are some issues among management at this time.

Receive verbal report from outgoing nurse. May have up to 12 patients a night. Pull medications via computer and kiosk. Full assessments on all patients. Pass meds. Flush IV sites. Check for current dates on IV's and tubing for fluids or antibiotics. Check for allergic reactions to meds. Monitor blood sugars, BP's and weights. Computerized charting. 24 hour chart checks on each patient. Daily testing of parameters on finger stick blood sugar machines. Daily testing of crash cart and supplies on it. Verify adequacy of stock on hand, if not order it. Report off to oncoming nurse. My CNA's are great. They always come to me with high or low BP's or temps. They turn our patients q2 hours. They take excellent care of our patients. The best part of my job is to see a patient smile and then I know that they are happy and well taken care of. I try to treat each patient as if they were my Mother or Father. Therefore, I know they get the BEST that I've got.
