there are a lot of politics involved with working at this agency; but i found that excelling at your job duties pardons you from the gossip in most cases. I loved working there, i loved making differences for the mentally ill men and women i worked with as they progressed through treatment.

My work was repetitive and not challenging

I was the Administrative Assistant to the Risk Manager. I was given a stack of incident reports every morning. I transcribed them into an ancient database program and was usually finished by noon. I spent a lot of time making copies and putting together informational packets for the Hospital Management team. I assisted my supervisor in putting together weekly meetings to discuss findings of his investigations into these incidents with hospital leadership. I took minutes at these meetings and published them to the leadership. I mailed all official findings to the Kansas State Board of Nursing as well as the Social Rehabilitation Services division of the state of Kansas. I placed all finalized investigation packets in to a filing system in the basement of the hospital.
