I love the patient's and I work well with my co-workers but the administration is extremely poor

Osawatomie State Hospital is a good hospital and the patients are incredible, co-workers are the best but the management and administration is poor. They don't care about their workers and they never tell their employers good job they just keep pouring more and more responsibilities onto us. We have to work at least 2 mandated 16 hour shifts every week. The hardest part of my job is not knowing from one day to the next if you're going to have to work 8,12 or 16 hours that day, you cannot make any plans. Helping my patients get better and become active again in the community is the most rewarding part of my job. Nothing about this job is typical. Its never the same from one day to the next.

Bumbling buffoonery

Management is filled with petty tyrants and bumbling buffoons. The staff is overworked for little pay and are constantly in fear of retribution from arbitrary supervisors. Also, those staff that work on the hospital units are subjected to 60+ hours work weeks and patient violence.
