Great job at local Adult Psych hospital.

Typical day at work was the direct patient care of mental health patients on a co ed 30 bed unit. Typical duties included, observation and charting of patients activities, medication administration, supervision of ancillary staff. Also, trained in the management of aggressive patients, Great working environment. Staff were awesome. Management was supportive of staff and made efforts to assure that adequate staffing needs were obtained.Hardest part of the job was dealing with psychotic and aggressive patients safely. The best part of the job was the close knit environment

Over worked and under paid. We are forced to take of individuals with minimum staff.

Even though the work day is hectic I enjoy working with my individuals. Truthfully management is a mess. I enjoy working with co-workers that I have direct contact with. The hardest part of the job is dealing with the decisions management makes for our individuals when they are not the one's who are taking care of them. The most enjoyable part is knowing I have taken care of each and every one of my individuals to the best of my ability.

Always busy and never bored.

I was always busy, working with staff to keep the the hospital up and going the generators the warehouse .. The co-workers were a general bunch of good people and we enjoyed just working together.. We had give aways for perfect attendance and had picnics for holidays and celebrated reaching goals together.

an okay place to work

Central state hospital is an okay play to work with good benefits. Although you might enjoy working there at first, it will change management is off balance and work/ life balance is terrible because u get held over all the time.
