Nice place to work wih great food

I worked on the SNF unit here and I would start my day off by getting vitals and getting patients ready for rehab. I then would help pass trays and help with feeds and chart all care and I&O in epic. I would continue and end my day with rounds. I learned how to accurately do vitals and learned a lot about rehab. Management was ok and could have been a little better about employee appreciation. My co-workers were wonderful and great at helping out when they were able to. The hardest part about this job was getting a full uninterrupted lunch but the most enjoyable part were my co-workers and the food.

Great team of co-workers, and the Dr's and manager were wonderful to work for!

The most rewarding part of my job was seeing the progression of the traumatic brain injury patients in rehabilitation towards living a normal life again.

Good stable job, only drawback -not much room for advancement

Worked offsite assessing patients for Drake. Learned criteria for long term acute care admissions, insurance certifications, Utilized interqual criteria for admissions and entered information into Midas as initial case management for patient. Co-workers were the best--supportive, knowledgeable, and hardworking. Initial management was wonderful. New management and changes in corporate expectations changed management at Drake . Hardest part of the job is that you are employed by Drake Hospital, but worked off site. So , communication with employees of Drake who worked in house saw you as somewhat of an outsider. And, communication in general was a problem at times. The most enjoyable part of the job was that you worked off site. I loved being able to be in the community in different facilities, hospitals and developing relationships with discharge planners, social workers, nurses and physicians in the community. A lot of variety!
