Very small rural Hawaii hospital but by far the best (and safest) hospital of the three on Big Island. Beautiful location on rolling green hills, rainbows and waterfalls nearby. Gets cool in the evenings and rainy/misty often. Staff was super friendly to me as a traveler, and I felt so warmly welcomed. Do know that resources are limited. I did LDRP, there is no NICU or typical nursery, everything high risk has to be transferred to Honolulu and you have to hope you can keep mom/baby stable until they arrive. At night, OR team, anesthesia, RT, peds/midwifes/OB's have to be called in. 5 L&D rooms, staffed 2-3 nurses on days and nights.
