I liked working at this hospital; it increased my KNOWLEGE in nursing and afforded the opportunity to learn new things.

I would come in and be assigned the pts I would be working with and perform the necessary duties for them. I enjoyed the diversity of clients. I liked working with the staff, everyone was nice. Sometimes it would get really busy and sometimes my assignments were much heavier than others and I would find myself running all day without any breaks or lunch in order to complete everything necessary for these pts. Often times when you are perdiem staff the units will give you the hardest assignments ( the clients the regular staff does not want to work with) I never complained because I know this practice is common when you work perdiem. The managers were for the most part approachable; they were great in accomodating me with the shifts I wanted.

I miss my home

I started my nursing career at Good Sam. I was a new grad hired into 5 South, Med-Surg/Oncology. I learned so much from my preceptor and mentors. I thought that I would grow to be an old nurse there but sadly our Oncology floor closed its doors in January of 2012. I truly miss the camaraderie and close knit, family feel in our Oncology floor.

Great atmosphere, people and work enviroment.

I really enjoyed working here. Very professional doctors and medical staff. The hospital is known for treating all with professional courtesy without predjudices. Co-workers treated me as family and everyday was an adventure.

I HAD A GOOD TIME WORKING THERE

DAY AND EVENING SHIFT STAFF WAS VERY SUPPORTIVE BUT NIGHT SHIFT STAFF IS HARD TO HANDLE. FOR SOME REASONS MANAGERS DON'T STICK ON OUR FLOOR. CHANGED 5 MANAGERS IN 5 YEARS.

A well groomed Cardio Intensive Care Unit with amazing experienced nurses willing to mentor the oncoming nurses with their vast knowledge and respect.

Working in CVICU began with bedside report from the night shift RN.Thorough Head-to-Toe Assessments with a detailed review of the care given during the night and any acute changes noted relayed to the Doctor on call during the night.I learned the value of accurate assessments and prompt clear communication to all involved in the patient care plan. I matured into a highly skilled Cardiovascular Critical Care Nurse over the 3 year period I worked with the staff at GSH.I am grateful for this amazing education which prompted my current Nursing Career Ventures!
