Busy medical surgical floor

I love my co-workers and work very well with them as a team. All are very hard working and give very good patient care. There are days when we are understaffed but still pull together to get our job done well. We have patients from Sweetwater and surrounding towns that get admitted to our hospital. Lately there has been a large turnover in staffing due to people moving and going to school to further their education. I work with young and many older retired people we have come to know the patients very well, as many have ongoing medical problems.

Great place, but carrying a beeper was not my joy.

I learned many things. I had never worked in this area so it was all new. My coworkers were real partners.

YOU REALLY NEVER KNOW WHAT IS COMING @ YOU, IT MAY BE AN EXTREMELY BUSY SHIFT OR JUST SO-SO OR JUST PLAIN SLOW. I ALWAYS TRY TO USE MACRO MANAGEMENT,SOMETIMES IT IS NECESSARY TO RECOGNIZE THE NEED FOR MORE I N DEPTH CONTROL. OUR SHIFT IS A WELL OILED GROUP, FUNCTIONING AS A TEAM , A UNIT THE CHAOS @ SHIFT CHALLENGE CAN BE QUITE A CHALLENGE. I HAVE A GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE AROUND ME & IT MAKES MY JOB EASY.
