Enjoyed working at the SMMC

It was a small hospital serving diverse group of clients with broad spectrum of illnesses; therefore, one can easily gain experiences in the following: medical-surgical, long-term care, custody, post-operative, telemetry, pediatrics, oncology, behavioral health etc.,

Fast Paced ER

A typical day at work is fast paced where patients come and go from the ER, either getting admitted or being discharged home. I have learned a lot with my years of experience working as a CNA at San Mateo Medical Center. I got to see different types of patients and learned to anticipate their needs as well as the nurses and doctors needs. My coworkers here are all very professional and hardworking. The most enjoyable part of my job is getting to interact with different people and helping them with their needs and with the satisfaction I get from them being grateful is more than enough to lighten up my day.

Great place for an internship

I interned here for 5 months. A typical day involved QA/QC in the lab. I worked in several labs under different scientists so had the chance to operate many different instruments and perform different tests. The hardest part of this internship was that there was a lot to absorb since I would change departments after a couple of weeks but that was also the best part as I got to learn a lot.
