ICU Stepdown Unit

As a registered nurse at SRHC, I have learned time management, developed my technical skills as a nurse as well as my skills of prioritization, and have had the opportunity to touch hundreds of lives. I have been lucky enough to be a part of live-saving procedures and have held the hands of the dying. I have eased people's pain and alleviated their anxieties. People have confided in me and I have had the honor of comforting them in times of sorrow. I have enjoyed watching critically ill patients get well again and have taken pride in the fact that I was a part of that. My co-workers have been supportive and helpful and our unit is well known in the hospital for our teamwork and camaraderie. Our managers are dedicated, positive individuals that do their best to ensure we have a productive, efficient, pleasant workplace.

Salina Regional Health Center

Until the end of last year, I had been a floor nurse on a Surgical/Trauma unit. I absolutely loved it, however, my heart lead me in the direction of education. I would love to find a position that would allow me to be able to maintain my current position, while also giving me the opportunity to grow and encourage the growth of future healthcare providers.

Good employer overall, often trades care of employee for bottom line.

Overall, this is a great place to work. Compensation & benefits are decent and peers are generally excellent. Frustration lies when the bottom line & pt satisfaction becomes more important than employee satisfaction and continuity of care. As noted in a previous review, if employees are satisfied, patients will feel it and satisfaction surveys will reflect as such. Flexibility for emergencies, sickness, pregnancy, and family care is lacking. To balance all of these negatives out, however, are a great group of employees who want to work for the greater good of the patient. The majority of employees/worker bees are here for the right reasons. As an employee, I can say I am generally satisfied with my employer.

Overall good

While at St. Francis I worked post surgical/oncology. I worked day shift and was a very busy floor. My nursing knowledge foundation was strong because of this position. I obtained a wide range of skills and assessment/time management/autonomy foundation. I enjoyed this position a lot.

Fifth Floor Nurses are GREAT!!

I really enjoy working the night shift with the nurses on fifth floor. They make me feel appreciated and like I am a part of the team. They do not make you feel that CNAs are a lower life form or insignificant title, and they are always willing to work together as a team for the benefit of the patients!!
