Productive and professional workplace.

Productive and professional workplace. My co-workers were easy to work with and were very encouraging. I attended various meetings and conferences which kept me updated relative to local, State and Federal Regulations on the Human Resource area. I enjoyed the inter-action of assisting employees on the benefits offered to them and their families.

A Very Productive learning Hospital.

From the time I was hired you had training You were Not allowed to work the hospital floors unless they were sure you knew what you were doing . I was assigned to a MED/SURG Floor But I worked ER,TELE,RESPIRATORY,LONGTERM CARE. A typical day Started with getting report from the previous shift. Looking on the computer for new orders and lab results.Always charting on each client. Then going to each room assessing your clients ,checking IV sites and infusion, dressings and wound care sites.Next Supervision of your LPNs and CNAs, Gather your Needed equipment. Hang IVs as Needed get medication cart and pass medication Prepare client for surgery and receive clients from surgery and monitor them. Start and monitor Blood transfusions and chemotherapy if your client had orders for them.Run to Code Blues and help out whether its Respiratory or IV needs till Respiratory and MDs arrive then take orders from them and chart. After code blues you then finish up your work and gave report to the next shift. You worked from the time you came in till you left. It was a very busy hospital but was run effectively all the staff worked together for the good of the client you had to be a good team player to work at OAK FOREST HOSPITAL.
