DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LOVED ONE TO BE TRANSFERRED HERE! Before I begin, let me just give the robotic response to this review that will follow and nothing will be done to resolve the issues: “Thank you for sharing your experiences with me. I take your concerns seriously, and I've passed along your review to our hospital administration. Our leadership team would like the opportunity to discuss them with you directly.” Now that that’s out of the way, maybe I saved someone a little work. - The worst communication of any facility I have ever interacted with - These people do not care, seriously, they don’t - Unprofessional staff with little patient knowledge - Family involvement is STRONGLY discouraged - ZERO accountability for lack of patient rehab services - ONE speech therapist for the entire facility. Good luck getting an evaluation, much less actual therapy - Dirty tubing, comfort needs ignored (water, chapstick for chapped lips from time on breathing tube, heel protectors to avoid pressure wounds, adequate blankets, etc) - If you attempt to advocate, they will attempt to steamroll you - No regard for patient rights…in fact, they won’t even give you a copy of their patient rights statement (which is required by law) A verbatim quote from nurse supervisor Mac: “My role is to hear people complain and I can’t do anything about it”. Here is a link to file a grievance, but I hope you won’t need it…I hope you never interact with these people. https://www.shiphelp.org/about-medicare/regional-ship-location/texas
