The 2019 "Future U.S. Nurse Scholarship" Program

TravelNurseSource is awarding a $2,000.00 scholarship to a nursing student who creates a compelling selfie video for our online scholarship contest.

Who Can Apply to the Scholarship for Nursing Students?

To be eligible for this nurse scholarship program, you must be: (1) a legal U.S. resident, (2) an undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing at an accredited U.S. nursing school, (3) 18 years of age or older, and (4) have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better.
    Please note that past winners of the TravelNurseSource "Future U.S. Nurse Scholarship" are not eligible to apply. Video entries to the "Future U.S. Nurse Scholarship" from previous years will not be considered.

If you are eligible for this scholarship, use your cell phone or laptop to create a selfie video that is under two minutes in length. Applicants must include the following in their video:

  • Mention TravelNurseSource
  • State your name
  • Tell us what inspired you to become a nurse
  • Share your story and how $2,000.00 will impact your future

Submit your video through our submission form along with your name, email, school, and a clear headshot of yourself no smaller than 200 pixels (width). The image file must be in .PNG or .JPG format.

Later in the submission process you may also be asked to provide:

  • Proof of enrollment, which can be an unofficial transcript or an official enrollment verification form
  • Letter of recommendation from a person of influence in your life

How Will We Select a Winner?

All videos that meet the above requirements will go on to an online competition where finalists can rally the public to vote for their favorite story. TravelNurseSource will take the top five videos with the most votes to determine a winner. TravelNurseSource will award the scholarship based on:

  • The applicant who most creatively and passionately conveys their desire to become a nurse
  • The applicant's financial need
  • A letter of recommendation
  • GPA

What’s Happening When?

When: May 1st, 2019 - October 4th, 2019
Where: Videos should be submitted through the form located on this page.
Deadline: The deadline for video submissions is Friday, October 4th, 2019 by 11:59 p.m. EST. Submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.

Additional Terms and Conditions

Winner Notification

At the conclusion of the online competition, one winner will be notified by phone and email. TravelNurseSource will announce the winner no later than November 8th, 2019.

Award Distribution

The winner will receive $2,000.00 toward his or her next semester of college. The winner must provide proof of enrollment prior to disbursement of the award, contact information for the school, and proof that they have an outstanding balance. TravelNurseSource will send a check payable to the university the winner is currently enrolled in. The scholarship money must be used towards the student's current tuition.


All videos and content within the submission become the property of TravelNurseSource and may be reposted or displayed online or through any media channels, in whole or part, without notification. When you submit communications to TravelNurseSource, its representatives may retain those communications.

By submitting an application, the applicant grants TravelNurseSource permission to post the applicant's name, school or university, applicant's photo, and the winning video on our website, and in other marketing platforms, including but not limited to blogs, social media accounts, and related sites.

Submissions will not be considered if:

  • The student is not a legal U.S resident
  • The student is not enrolled in a U.S. accredited nursing program
  • The student is under the age of 18
  • The student cannot prove a GPA of 2.5 or better
  • The student does not state their name or mention TravelNurseSource in their video
  • The video is over two minutes in length
  • The student does not explain their desire to become a nurse and how the $2,000 will impact them
  • The student harasses, engages, or copies any other scholarship contestant during the online voting period
  • The video is not self-made or vlog/selfie style
