January 29, 2013 Great entry level position to hospital with room for growth and advancementMy typical day involved providing direct patient care on a busy oncology unit which included providing chemotherapy, blood transfusions, pain management and symptom management. I also provided supervision, support and assistance to staff, as well as oriented and trained new personnel and student nurses. In addition, I educated and provided emotional support to patients and their families. The most enjoyable part was getting to know patients and their families since some patients can stay on the unit for weeks or longer. The hardest part was losing a patient that I became attached to. |

December 17, 2012 studentI loved the enviroment at the hospital. Everyone I came into contact with was more than willing to help me in my journey. We began each day at 6:30 in the nurses lounge. This is where we got our OR rotation for the day.I was in a group of five students. The best part of being at the hospital was all the things we were able to see and participate in.The worst part was seeing a child pass. But I was told by many of the nurses that day that God willing I would never see that again. |
