challenging because when I became an RN (being that I was employed as a nurses aid) I was hired as soon as I passed my nursing board

Worked very hard, but I learned so much ealier on. Management was always willing to meet us half way, and allowed the Nurses to offer their opinonin the interest of the patients. My co-workerswere very supportive and work collaboratively, The hardest part of my job was not having enought time to pay more attention to our client. the most enjoyable part of my job at cabrini was that it was a small hospital and everybody knew each other, and were willing to help one another,

A very good company that promoted from within; very cohesive.

I worked in several capacities over the course of my employment with Cabrini. Employees worked in a professional and courteous manner. I always prided my self on maintaining a positive working relationship between management and our various unions. The most difficult part of the job was when layoffs occurred however decisions were always made according to seniority and the needs of the departments. The most enjoyable parts of the job occurred after successfully getting through Joint Commission assessments; a collective sigh of relief would come over the hospital.

Cabrini Medical Center was a community hospital which has closed.

Cabrini was a hospital on the lower east side of New York. It was an environment that allowed for professional growth. I began as a driver and progressed to Employee Relations Manger. It was a unionized facility and despite the contentious issues that invariably arose, employees worked well together. The most difficult times were during union negotiations and layoffs. The most enjoyable times came after the dust had settled from negotiations and people wer able to go about their daily work schedules.

Sad it closed :(

I had a great time working at CMC. It is where I 'grew' up. It was like family. Met some of my 'bestest' friends there. It was sad to leave NYC and eventually CMC closing. Hope 'The Mother' resurrects.
