January 18, 2014 Great Team of Provders. As a rehab tech, I worked at 35 hour work week. ROM, TE's, TA's and education for clients. |
November 04, 2013 Good rapport with the surgeons. We have a varied schedule with our surgeons with different doctor's clinics on different days (mornings/afternoons) of the week. Once a decision has been made to set up surgery for a patient, I see the patient for preoperative teaching & instruction. I then enter necessary surgical information which communicates to the OR as well as entering prior authorization information. It's often necessary to communicate with the schedulers at one of our 3 operating facilities. On busy clinic days I'm often seeing patients back to back so I've learned certain organizational skills to prioritize and plan ahead. We have a hard working team of medical assistants and seem to have good team work. I don't necessarily find the job hard, but sometime challenging with the numbers of patients we see through our clinics. I enjoy the good working relationship with my surgeons and co-workers. I enjoy the people that I meet on a daily basis and feel that I'm able to put them at ease as they're facing surgery. |

July 25, 2013 Team oriented and integrational careA typical day at work can be challenging; however, this is a teaching hospital and most of the employees and management assists with questions or practical work. I have learned a lot from my employment with UNM. There are constant education classes that are required for different so it definitely keeps you on top of your game. My management team was extremely supportive and always had time for questions or concerns. The hardest part of the job was sometimes having to juggle some high acuity patients. The plus side to this was that our unit provided a resource nurse that would normally be available to assist with the treatment of other patients if I was dealing with a critical patient. Most of the employees were very enjoyable to work with; which makes it such a pleasure to come into work. |
