ICU/Float RN

This is a good place to work in the ICU. The medical floor is similar many others as being understaffed for the patient to nurse ration. Overall a good small facility that promotes advancement.

Excellent place to work with great boss

Worked there for 36 years total, first as a staff nurse and then as a systems analyst. Enjoyed my job! Great place to work!! Just needed to relocate or I would still be employed there.I managed PCS, OE/POM, PCM/PWM, EDM, physician documentation, physician desktop.

Skilled staffing with a family type work atmosphere

Shift Started at 7pm to 7:30am. Got to work along side skilled staff who are caring and comforting. Always observed great care taken with the patients and learned an incredible wealth of knowledge along with the learning opportunities offered by the facility.

Busy, challenging , good co-workers

Review all new admissions for level of care, orders, discharge needs. Use criteria and consulting firm to ensure level of care, intensity of care and severity of illness. Attend patient care rounds in all areas of the hospital. These are multi-disciplinary rounds. Communicate with MDs and floor nurses about level of care/or other needs. Usually review 30-40 patient charts per day. The hardest part of my job is the ever changing CMS regulation and keeping MDs up to speed on these regulations.Families and patient satisfaction is the most enjoyable part of my job.

Great hospital setting with multi-disciplinary team approach

I highly enjoyed completing a Level II fieldwork at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD. I was primarily within the outpatient setting but was fortunate enough to see a multitude of settings as well.
