April 04, 2013 someone never changes , or are therra work day, i worked in unm childens hospial. i woke up a 0430. drive to commute to abq. we pass off information the. we have one of the biggest units with kids, i would do qc then hours. we start giving bath and or change linen. we have about 16 pt. what another important is caring for the chilid and there parents. i have learn to cathed children and did do labs on the kids. i check on patients every hour, do lunch and vitals athe sametime. there is another tech vitals again then a kid bm and was playing with the dirty diaper. give them a bath between vitals. pt, rn an myself the guy was a q 2hr turned. the pt to have a nose bleed. i check on the pt ten minutes later his nose started to blood, i saw he was vomiting the pt bloody nose return the pted begin yet again i put the pt, on its side.as he throw up the first part of his gtube, i as to push the green button for staffing, the button push i still the pt. as he was in the recovery position i starter suctioning the patient. i then passed it up to the rn and docs. we all took them to 4 pic unit then start vitals again. lunch time. we pass out trays then do more vitals.we help each other stock the with growns and gloves.then i would check on my pts. in hr later i would start out vitals between vitals we have to change beds. everone up so it hsd to be done while they were gone. we start closing up for the next shift. check on pt. and parents. we clean up be ready for the night co worker tell the tech as pass off information. then we go home drive down to socorro, go to bed, wake up and head the day again. the wont in the is a kid having a sz walk up to me punch me in the face. |
April 01, 2013 Very family oriented place to work.Great place to work. Worked in med/surge, L& D and ER. Everyone worked as a team. Hardest part of the job was leaving. |
