November 21, 2013 Friendly and welcoming staff, willing to help orient new employee.12 hr shift in rural hospital which included ER and ICU work. The people I worked with were wonderful.I learned to interpret basic heart rhythms, do some ER care.Management was friendly, and wanted to work with my needs, and the same is true for co-workers.I came to this position with only very limited ER and ICU experience, so this was a real stress factor. I was on days, and getting up at 0500 was torture. This little town was way off the grid, and the isolation was uncomfortable. I also had left my family in Oregon to go to Montana and this was extremely difficult. The best part was meeting new people and making new friends as the staff worked with me to prepare for the job. |
September 19, 2013 Great teamwork on night shift. learned a lot!Great hospital to learn my basic nursing skills at. However expected us to take up to 7 pts which I feel is unsafe in my nursing career. Benefits are poor at that. |
