Great workplace for a small, community hospital

Overall, compensation was poor and seemed unfair. There is a lot of nepotism present. As a staff nurse, you can practice without seeing the nepotism and if you remove yourself from that culture.

Excellent facility

United hospital was an excellent place of employment. They have a enviroment that facilitates new grad teaching. The employees and Manangement were more than willing to teach, mentor and faciliate a friendly and welcoming enviroment

Horrible hospital. RUN!

This is probably one of the worst hospitals I’ve ever worked in as a travel nurse. The nursing culture is HORRID. This hospital is the definition of nurse bullying and nurses eating their young. The nurses are burnt out and tired from their union; they hate their own hospital but can’t find the courage to leave; and they’re stuck there being angry and taking it out on travel nurses who are helping them because they can’t retain any nurses. One of the worst nurses and human beings I’ve ever met was Kim in their “CVICU”. She was the definition of a mean girl who gossiped about every nurse. She would cuss left and right on the unit. Worst of all, she would be the charge nurse on night shift. Charge nurses are supposed to be knowledgeable, supportive, emotionally intelligent, and helpful. Kim was anything but. Every shift working with her made me want to just quit and end my career. Kim was a bully and no one enjoyed being in her presence. I really feel bad for all the nurses in training including new graduate nurses who will have the to endure United hospital’s nursing culture as possibly their very first time practicing as nurses. The doctors do not support the nurses at all, and they are very arrogant. If you are a nurse considering working at this hospital or health system, RUN. FAST. You will burn out.
