Travel Nurse RN - $3,163 per week in Weston, FL - Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (11:00 - 23:30) Job Summary: As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Operating Room, you will play a crucial role in assisting with complex surgical procedures related to the cardiovascular system. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety and well-being of patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery. This role requires a high level of expertise, teamwork, and attention to detail. Responsibilities: Preoperative Preparation: * Assess and prepare patients for cardiovascular surgical procedures. * Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the anesthesiologist. * Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly. Intraoperative Support: * Assist the surgical team during procedures, including scrubbing, circulating, and providing instrumentation. * Monitor and maintain sterile field integrity. * Continuously assess the patient's vital signs and respond promptly to any changes. * Administer medications and fluids as ordered by the surgeon or anesthesiologist. * Operate and troubleshoot specialized CVOR equipment, such as heart-lung machines and intra-aortic balloon pumps. Postoperative Care: * Transition patients to the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) or cardiac intensive care unit (CICU). * Monitor patients for post-surgical complications and provide appropriate interventions. * Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. * Educate patients and their families on postoperative care and recovery. Documentation and Record Keeping: * Maintain accurate and complete medical records. * Document all aspects of patient care, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Safety and Infection Control: * Adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent surgical site infections. * Ensure the safety of patients and staff during surgical procedures. Qualifications: * Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in state of practice. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cardiovascular operating room setting. * BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification. * CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification preferred. * Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and surgical procedures. * Proficient in the use of CVOR equipment and technology. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. * Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills. * Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
