I got into healthcare totally by accident. While I was in college looking for a summer job, I came across an opportunity to be a patient care coordinator. Even though I am deathly afraid of needles and blood, I decided to take a chance because I love helping people. My mother was a nurse for 35 years, but I never really knew how hard her job was and how many people’s lives she touched. After working in the field for a few years, I gained a new appreciation for nurses and became envious of their ability to bring a small amount of joy into someone’s otherwise miserable day. I love that I have a career that allows me to help nurses reach and exceed their career goals and, in turn, help improve the lives of others.
