Duties & Responsibilities: * Assess pressure injuries, identify treatment options, and implement wound care best practices to prevent future injuries from occurring. * Skills to manage foot ulcers in patients with diabetes. * Teach patients how to maintain a healthy foot care routine on their own. * Assess and Treat first, second and third-degree wounds. * Proficient in antibiotic ointments, bandage assessment for type of wound, and all pertinent wound care treatments. * Proficient in traumatic wound care; skin tears, lacerations and all-penetrating wounds. * Assess, clean, and treat all traumatic wounds. * Educate patients and families through verbal instruction and hands-on training and demonstrations to empower patients and families. * Proficient in Ostomy care, infection control, and patient education. Education & Experience Requirements: * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current licensure in good standing. * Evidence of a Minimum of one year of recent Wound care experience. * Evidence of current AHA BLS is required.
