About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in the state of TX or compact Certifications: BLS required (AHA only) Must-Have: CVOR and EPIC charting experience required, minimum of two years. Description: The competent Nurse practices independently in the same or similar clinical setting. Demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage the contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of competencies relevant to the role. Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources relevant to patient care.
