Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups across medical, medical telemetry, and observation populations
- Monitor telemetry and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
- Perform drug titration and manage IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, lift equipment, and telemetry monitoring equipment
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information in accordance with applicable nursing practice standards
- Float on a rotational basis as required by unit needs
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license; must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently hold a Missouri RN license
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience
- Demonstrated experience and competence in drug titration
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- NIHSS certification (may be submitted without, but must be obtained prior to assignment start)
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-acuity inpatient telemetry environment
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR
- Determined, decisive, and flexible personality well-suited to a fast-paced unit environment
