About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Experience with arterial line management - Ability to assist with chest tube insertion and removal - Proficient in BiPAP/CPAP management - Skills in blood product administration - Care for ventilated patients - Central line care and management - Management of chronic and acute renal failure - Experience with continuous IV sedation - Competence in CVA and acute stroke management - Experience with CVVHD and CRRT - Knowledge of Impella - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias - Proficiency with IV insulin protocols - Management of dysrhythmias - Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure - PICC line management - Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring - Competence in sheath removal - Ability to start and maintain IVs - Knowledge of surgical intensive care protocols - Skill in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips Description: The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit is seeking a registered nurse for night shifts. The unit welcomes first-time travelers. This is a patient-focused environment with a 2:1 patient ratio. The patient population primarily consists of adult and geriatric patients. Daily census averages around 20 patients. Staffing includes interdisciplinary support from various teams, such as IV teams and respiratory services. Flexibility may be required as travelers may float to similar units as needed. This position may include caring for patients with a mix of cardiac surgical and medical issues, along with occasional medical ICU overflow. Every other weekend commitment is necessary. Candidates should be ready to adapt based on facility needs. Orientation will include a brief introduction to the unit. There are specific skills and experience prerequisites for this role, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety.
