RN – MedSurg/Telemetry
Shift: 12-hour Nights (36 hours/week)
Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Unit Overview

32-bed Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
•
Average daily census: 32 patients
•
First-time travelers accepted
•
Minimum of 18 months of MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience required
Patient Population
•
Respiratory illnesses (Flu, Pneumonia, COVID-19)
•
General medical-surgical and telemetry patients
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios
•
RN: 1:5–6 (up to 1:7–8 during surge staffing)
•
LPN: 1:5–6 (up to 1:7–8 during surge staffing)

Cardiac rhythm interpretation
•
Management of non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone)
•
Drain and tube management
•
General MedSurg/Telemetry nursing skills
Support & Resources

Respiratory Therapy available 24/7

Hospitalist coverage 24/7
•
Intensivist coverage 24/7
•
Telemetry monitoring available
Floating
•
Floating required based on operational needs within the region and within scope of practice.
