Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM | 5 Days / 8 Hours | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establish care priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs, and reassess systematically to identify trends requiring intervention.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care, modifying as needed based on patient outcomes.
  • Perform Point of Care testing procedures and implement timely, documented nursing interventions appropriate to patient needs.
  • Coordinate and delegate team assignments based on patient and unit needs, following up on delegated tasks to ensure quality and completeness.
  • Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and professional environment by supporting unit goals, adhering to safety policies, and collaborating with physicians, staff, and visitors.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
  • BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Current knowledge and clinical skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served in an Operating Room / Surgery setting.
  • On-call availability, weekend availability, and willingness to float as required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience working with EPIC EMR.
  • Strong communication and human relations skills that promote teamwork and patient/customer satisfaction.
