Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in state of employment or valid compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Ability to float to all Med/Surg departments as needed.
- Willingness to work weekend shifts (approximately 2–4 shifts per month, rotated among staff).
- Proficiency or ability to work within EPIC EMR system.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical or related nursing specialty.
- Prior travel nursing experience in a similar clinical setting.
