Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) setting, monitoring and managing patients requiring intermediate-level nursing care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols
- Accurately document patient assessments, care provided, and clinical outcomes in the electronic health record
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care team members to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care appropriately as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or a Compact state
- Minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience in a PCU, IMC, or Stepdown unit
- Current BLS certification required; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS) may be required per unit standards
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills appropriate for intermediate-level patient acuity
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a PCU or Stepdown setting
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in large acute care hospital environments
- Experience working in a high-volume regional referral or trauma center
