# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care/Oncology Telemetry RN – Ohio

Schedule:
12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights/combination based on departmental needs); shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; weekend shifts variable based on unit needs
Highlights:
•
36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level of care
•
Patient population includes solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
•
Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU patients, 1:4-5 for Med-Surg Telemetry patients
•
Epic charting system with GE telemetry monitoring
•
72-hour comprehensive orientation program
•
Strong interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
•
Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives
Requirements:
•
Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of current PCU experience
•
Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
•
Current certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
•
Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
•
Previous travel nursing experience preferred
•
Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity levels
•
Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
•
Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
•
Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
Essential Clinical Skills:
•
Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
•
Accessing and managing ports; blood product administration
•
Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
•
IV initiation and maintenance; heparin protocols
•
Cardiac drip management and titration
•
Chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
•
Respiratory support: High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy management
•
Arterial blood gas interpretation
•
Feeding tube care and management
•
Use of rapid response teams
Preferred Skills:
•
Oncology nursing experience (preferred but not required; ICU and PCU backgrounds also excel in this role)
•
Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
•
IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
•
Wound care and wound VAC management
•
Arterial line management
•
Surgical drain management
Equipment & Technology:
GE telemetry monitoring system (B450 monitors), Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, bladder scanners, continuous bladder irrigation, PCA pumps, and standard progressive care equipment

Additional Information:
Rotating shift assignments may include days, nights, or a combination based on staffing needs. Former employees are eligible after being away from the facility for 6 months or more. Current employees are ineligible for travel positions. Local candidates accepted at the same rate. One pre-approved time-off request permitted per contract.
