Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement; float to other ICUs and intermediate units as needed
Highlights:
•
26-bed Neuroscience and Surgical ICU within a comprehensive stroke center
•
Staffing ratios of 2:1, occasionally 3:1 or 1:1 depending on patient acuity
•
Advanced critical care experience with stroke management, ICP monitoring, seizure management, and invasive equipment
•
Specialized equipment including EVD management, ventilators, Zoll temperature management/Arctic Sun, PCAs, and lumbar drains
•
Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
•
Contract length of 13 weeks or longer available through February 27
Requirements:
•
Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
•
Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
•
Active RN license (NC or Compact state license accepted)
•
Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
•
Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
•
Demonstrated competency in ventilator management, telemetry, ICP monitoring, arterial line management, critical care drip titration, and care of ventilated patients
•
Experience with blood product administration, central line management, hypothermia protocols, and post-neurosurgery patient management
•
Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
