Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Surgical Oncology RN – Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights or Nights Only, rotating assignments possible); 16-week assignment; variable weekend requirements based on unit needs; 1:4–1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
Highlights:
•
Mixed acuity unit caring for both Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Medical-Surgical patients with a focus on surgical oncology
•
Busy surgical floor specializing in breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and plastic/reconstructive surgery patients
•
72-hour orientation with Epic EMR charting system
•
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
•
Hands-on experience with chemotherapy, blood transfusions, oncologic emergencies, insulin/heparin drips, and telemetry monitoring
•
Float requirements within scope of practice to other acute care oncology units
Requirements:
•
Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
•
Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, including at least 1 year of current PCU/Step-Down experience within the last 12 months
•
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
•
Epic charting experience required
•
Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, tracheostomy care, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
•
Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
•
Two professional references required (at least one must be from a manager or supervisor)
•
Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
