About the Position

Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Med Surg

•

Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation

•

Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families

•

Administer medications and treatments according to protocol; monitor effectiveness and side-effects

•

Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given

•

Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers

Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Med Surg

•

Current RN License in the state of TX or compact license

•

Current BLS certification (AHA only)

•

Current ACLS certification (AHA only)

•

Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred

•

2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
