# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care / Medical Oncology RN – Ohio
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; assigned based on departmental needs reviewed every 4-week scheduling period
Highlights:
•
36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level of care
•
High acuity PCU patients with diagnoses including solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology
•
Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU; 1:4-5 for Med-Surg Telemetry
•
Epic charting system; GE telemetry monitoring; Alaris pumps and Stryker beds
•
72-hour orientation provided; oncology experience preferred but not required
•
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Respiratory Services, and Physical Therapy
Requirements:
•
Current, valid Ohio RN license or compact multi-state license in hand at time of submission
•
Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year in PCU (experience must be current within the last 12 months)
•
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
•
Previous travel nursing experience preferred
•
Must be willing to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
•
Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
•
Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor)
Essential Skills:
•
Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
•
Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
•
Port access and blood product administration
•
Feeding tube care, IV starts, and heparin protocols
•
Cardiac drip management (with and without titration)
•
Chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
•
Respiratory support: CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, tracheostomy management
•
PCA pump management and ABG interpretation
•
Use of Rapid Response Teams and isolation precautions/PPE
Preferred Skills:
•
Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
•
IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips
•
Wound care/wound vac management
•
Arterial line management and surgical drain care
•
Phlebotomy and non-invasive airway management
