Job Opportunity – Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: 3x12 night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage required - 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule. Floating required as needed. Must be willing to work holidays (2 out of 3 major holidays required).
Highlights:
•
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on a 44-bed cardiac telemetry unit
•
Comprehensive cardiac case mix including post-surgical CABG, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman), valve replacements, and vascular procedures
•
Experience with advanced cardiac interventions including post-catheterization care, sheath management and removal, and electrophysiology procedures
•
EPIC charting system with 24 hours of paid orientation
•
Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks available with up to 7 days of approved time off
•
Full interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Requirements:
•
Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
•
BLS and ACLS certification required
•
NIHSS certification preferred
•
Minimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience required
•
Medical-Surgical/Telemetry/Step-down experience preferred
•
First-time travelers accepted with required cardiac experience
•
Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
•
Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
Patient Population:
Adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, valve disorders (aortic and mitral stenosis/regurgitation), endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, peripheral vascular disease, vasculitis, carotid stenosis, and venous stasis.
Clinical Skills & Equipment:
Proficiency with cardiac telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drip management and titration, sheath removal, TR band application, arterial line management, chest tubes, doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, and fem-stop devices. Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, central line care, isolation precautions, wound care, and IV therapy.
