Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Postpartum & Antepartum – Virginia

Location: Central Virginia

Schedule: 13-week assignment, nights, 36 hours per week with every other weekend (Friday/Saturday) and every other holiday coverage required
Highlights:

Postpartum and Antepartum care with Baby Friendly protocols and rooming-in model
•
Float required within skill set, including NICU to care for Level II nursery patients (orientation provided)
•
4:1 patient ratio with 24 hours of orientation
•
Epic charting system utilized throughout facility
•
Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and lactation consultants 7 days per week
•
Up to 40 hours of requested time off (RTO) available during assignment
Requirements:
•
Active Virginia RN license or pending (must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
•
Minimum 1 year of Postpartum/Antepartum nursing experience required
•
BLS and NRP certifications required
•
Epic charting system experience required
•
NCC-EFM and ACLS certifications preferred
•
Experience with 4:1 patient ratios
•
Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
•
Comfort with floating to NICU for Level II nursery care
Clinical Skills & Responsibilities:
•
Postpartum and antepartum care including high-risk antepartum patients
•
Newborn assessment and care for infants 36.0 weeks and greater than 2000g
•
Administration of Magnesium Sulfate and insulin drips on unit
•
Management of pregnancy-induced hypertension, gestational diabetes, and other maternal complications
•
Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS) care
•
Breastfeeding support and education in a Baby Friendly environment
•
Discharge teaching, car seat education, and circumcision care instruction
•
Non-Stress Tests (NST) and External Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
•
Care for multiple births, low birth weight infants, and postpartum hemorrhage
•
Special Care Nursery/Level II experience for NICU float assignments
