Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – Wisconsin
Start Date: November 9, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Schedule: Day/Night rotation, 12-hour shifts (0700-1930 / 1900-0730) with every other weekend and holidays as needed. Rotators scheduled to flip between days/nights no more than 2 times in a 6-week scheduling period with 36 hours off between flips (exceptions at employee request).

Adult medical/surgical telemetry unit with geriatric population under Family Medicine service

Daily census of 20 patients across 25 rooms with comprehensive interdisciplinary support

EPIC electronic medical record system; telemetry monitoring on the unit

Magnet-designated facility ranked as Wisconsin's top hospital and nationally recognized teaching institution
•
Specialized experience with Department of Corrections patients in a secure wing with safety protocols
•
Floating required as needed; must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start
Requirements
•
Active RN license in good standing
•
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in medical/surgical specialty within the last 3 years
•
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
•
EPIC charting system experience required
•
Proficiency in starting and maintaining IVs
•
Must pass telemetry dysrhythmia interpretation exam with strict criteria: 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms, no errors on 3rd degree heart blocks, and 80% overall passing score
•
Experience with central lines, PICC management, wound care, PCAs, insulin/heparin protocols, and isolation precautions
•
Previous experience caring for law enforcement/corrections patients preferred
•
Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
•
Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
